Terpenes are highly bioavailable, which means the body absorbs and uses them readily. They are major biosynthetic building blocks, comprising more than 30,000 identified compounds, produced predominantly by plants and fruits. They are what gives an orange peel its smell and a pine forest its air.
 
What terpenes are traditionally used for
Aromatherapy and traditional practice. Terpenes are the active aromatic components of essential oils and have been used in traditional practice across many cultures for a very long time.
Everyday wellbeing. Many people take terpenes as part of a daily wellness routine, and some find they notice it in their mood and mental clarity.
Plant chemistry that is being actively studied. Terpenes are one of the most researched families of plant compounds there is, and work on how they interact with plastics, solvents and other synthetic compounds is genuinely interesting.
